The providers at The Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. All of our practitioners have been elected as Fellows of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disorders- the preeminent medical society devoted to the treatment of vulvovaginal disorders and sexual pain. In addition, all of our providers have conducted and published medical research on these diseases.

Andrew T. Goldstein, MD, FACOG

Dr. Andrew T. Goldstein grew up in Bridgeton, New Jersey and graduated from the University of Virginia and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He pursued his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Beth Israel Medical Center. After completing his residency, Dr. Goldstein moved to Annapolis, Maryland and in 1999, he joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and in 2002 he became the Director of the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders in Washington, D.C and New York City. He is currently a Clinical Professor at the George Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Goldstein is the Past-President of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH). He is a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD), the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), the Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR), and the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA). Dr Goldstein has been a grant recipient of the National Vulvodynia Association and other private foundations. He is the founder and President of the Gynecologic Cancers Research Foundation. He was an Associate Editor of the Journal of Sexual MedicineThe Female Patient, and Current Sexual Health Reports.  He has co-authored/co-edited four books: Reclaiming Desire ((Rodale 2004 & 2009), Female Sexual Pain Disorders: Evaluation & Management (Wiley- Blackwell 2010), When Sex Hurts (DaCapo 2011), and Management of Sexual Dysfunction in Men and Women: An Interdisciplinary Approach (Springer, 2015).

Dr. Goldstein is actively involved in research and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters on female sexual dysfunction, sexual pain disorders, lichen sclerosus, lichen simplex chronicus, vulvodynia, and vulvar vestibulitis syndrome (vestibulodynia). He has lectured extensively on the subjects of vulvodynia, vulvar disease, and female sexual dysfunction, and has been interviewed by many media outlets and publications including ABC’s 20/20, The View, Dr Oz, Good Morning America, The Discovery Channel, BBC, local affiliates of CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox, New York Times, Washington Post, Allure, Cosmopolitan, Essence, Women’s Health, and Prevention.

 Dr. Goldstein has a strong commitment to global medicine and in 2015-16 spent a year in South America and South-East Asia volunteering, along with his family, with 11 different NGO’s providing medical care (see 

Dr. Goldstein's wife, Gail, is a dermatologist in Annapolis, Maryland. They have three wonderful daughters: Lena, Mimi, and Julia. Together they enjoy sailing, skiing, scuba diving, wine tasting, adventurous travel.

Tara Ford, PA-C

Tara Ford, PA-C is a Nationally Certified Physician Assistant licensed in New York and Washington, DC. She graduated with honors from Touro College of Health Sciences where she was awarded the prestigious Maimonides Award.

Tara has been treating women with sexual dysfunction since 2010. She has extensive experience treating vaginismus, vulvodynia and other vulvovaginal disorders. She also has expertise in treating hypoactive sexual desire (low libido), arousal, and orgasmic disorders. Tara has lectured and written extensively on the topic of female sexual dysfunction and is a member of the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.

Mollie Flint Rieff, DNP, WHNP-BC, MPH

We are thrilled to announce a referral for our patients in the Southwest, starting April 11, 2017!  

Dr. Mollie Flint Rieff is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner practicing out of Santa Fe, NM.  Dr. Rieff received a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a concentration as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Utah. While completing this degree program, she performed clinical rotations at the Institute for Sexual Medicine in San Diego, CA, the Centers for Vulvovaginal Disorders, and the Women's Pelvic Care Clinic at the University of Utah. She received a Master of Public Health with a dual concentration in Maternal and Child Health/Health Education and Communication from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arkansas State University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Tulane University.
